Konrad Hentschel [Cologne 1872 – 1907 in Meißen], German porcelain modeller and designer. 1889 visit to the drawing school in Meissen, then apprenticeship as a Bossierer and subsequent study at the Art Academy Munich. 1894-96 worked as a Bossierer for the porcelain manufactory Meissen. In 1896, the manufactory announced a competition for the development of a Déjeuner, which should be inexpensive and modern at the same time, The young Konrad Hentschel designed his “Crocus Dejeuner” and created the first Art Nouveau tableware that was to be admired at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 and immediately found many lovers.
