Bernhard Hoetger [Hörde, Westfalen 1874 – 1949 Beatenberg, Switzerland] German sculptor, architect, painter a. Graphic artist as well as designer for furniture and utensils. On the occasion of his trip to the Paris World Fair in 1900, he remains resolutely in the metropolis and initially works in the studio of Rodin, whose career is just beginning. In 1911 he was called to the Darmstadt artist colony and began work on the sculptural redesign of the Mathildenhöher plane tree grove.
