“For Christiansen characteristic ornament was the rose, which he used in various versions from almost naturalistic to stylized.
In 1903, he also used the same rose petal decor from this cup set on a porcelain dinner service.
The rose petal motif was particularly concentrated in his villa “In Rosen” on the Mathildenhöhe, where it mainly graced carpets, wallpaper and textile work. “</ P>
